Tourist Route Expanded: Murdeshwar-Bangalore via Mysore Train on daily basis inaugurated

Bhatkal: A new express train has been launched today, Sunday, September 17, from the country's leading tourist destination, Murdeshwar, to Bangalore via Mysore. This train will operate daily.

According to officials from Konkan Railway, Train No. 16585, which used to run six days a week from Bengaluru Sir Vishweshwaraiah Terminal to Mangaluru Central Terminal via Mysuru, has now been extended to Murdeshwar. Consequently, this train will now run seven days a week.

Similarly, Express Train No. 16586, which previously departed from Mangaluru Central to Bengaluru, will now commence its journey from Murdeshwar, starting from today, i.e., September 17.

As per the scheduled timetable, Train No. 16585 will depart from Sir Vishweshwaraiah Terminal, Bangalore, at 8:15 PM, reach Mysore at 11:30 PM, and arrive in Mangalore at 8:55 AM the next day. The train will then leave Mangalore Central at 9:20 AM, stopping at Suratkal at 10:32 AM, Udupi at 11:18 AM, Kundapur at 11:54 AM, Bhatkal at 12:56 PM, and finally reach Murdeshwar at 1:35 PM.

Similarly, Express Train No. 16586 will depart from Murdeshwar at 2:10 PM, reach Bhatkal at 2:22 PM, Kundapur at 3:08 PM, Udupi at 3:48 PM, Suratkal at 4:50 PM, and Mangalore at 6:05 PM. It will leave Mangaluru at 6:35 PM, arrive in Mysore at 3:15 AM the following day, and reach Bangalore at 7:15 AM.

This train will continue to make stops at Padel and Mysuru as before. Additionally, there will be additional stops for this express train at Suratkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapur, Byndoor, and Bhatkal.

The train comprises 19 coaches, including one first-class AC, one two-tier AC, three three-tier AC, nine sleeper coaches, four general coaches, and two SLR coaches.

During the inauguration of the new train at Murdeshwar railway station, Kundapur Hita Rakshana Samiti President Ganesh Putran, along with Gautam, Vivek Naik, Uttara Kannada Railway Samiti President Raju Gaonkar, George Fernandez, S S Kamath, Shankar Devadiga, and other members, were present.
