Udupi: Udupi district Superintendent Arun K announced the establishment of specialized police units to closely monitor illicit activities, such as rave parties and drug abuse, during New Year celebrations in Udupi. 

These teams will conduct thorough inspections at homestays, resorts, and locations with questionable reputations. Arun informed the press that additional police squads had been assembled to address rowdy behavior, particularly on beaches.

To ensure a peaceful New Year's Eve celebration, Arun emphasized the prevention of untoward incidents through the deployment of these special squads for moral policing. He added that individuals facing issues should approach the police rather than taking matters into their own hands.

 Arun stressed that all celebrations should conclude by 12:30 am, and the use of loudspeakers beyond 10 pm would not be allowed in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines.
