Bhatkal: Several trains operating between Bangalore and coastal destinations such as Mangalore, Murdeshwar, and Karwar have been temporarily suspended or canceled due to landslides and heavy rains affecting various parts of Karnataka over the past few days.
According to a press release issued by the South Western Railway, a significant landslide occurred on the route between Yedakumeri and Kodaganhalli in the Sakleshpur region of Hassan district. This incident has led to the suspension of train services between Bangalore and key coastal areas including Mangalore, Murdeshwar, and Karwar.
The following train services have been affected:
- Train No. 16585 from Bengaluru to Murdeshwar is canceled on July 27th and 28th.
- Train No. 16586 from Murdeshwar to Bengaluru is canceled on July 28th and 29th.
- Train No. 06567 from Bengaluru to Karwar is canceled on July 28th.
- Train No. 06568 from Karwar to Bangalore is canceled on July 28th.
- Train No. 16595 from Bengaluru to Karwar is canceled on July 27th and 28th.
- Train No. 16596 from Karwar to Bengaluru is canceled on July 28th and 29th.
The Railway Department has requested all passengers to cooperate during this period of disruption. Efforts are underway to clear the landslide and restore normal train operations as soon as possible.
