Hubbali: The National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources (NCPNR) has released fresh documents in support of its allegation against Congress leader and MLC Motamma and her family that they had encroached upon public land in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.
Releasing the documents at a press meet recently, NCPNR founder-president S.R. Hiremath said that along with Ms. Motamma, her two sons, Goutam and Preetam, were involved in grabbing public land. They have encroached upon nearly five acres (Survey No 156) in Kundur village of Bankal hobli and developed a coffee plantation, he said.
About Ms. Motamma dismissing allegations of land grab against her, Mr. Hiremath said it is no secret that Ms. Motamma tried to get Mudigere tahsildar Nagesh transferred for issuing notice on December 12, 2016, asking her to vacate the encroached land. The list showing encroachment prepared by the revenue officials of Mudigere taluk too indicates encroachment by Ms. Motamma and her two sons, he said.
In addition, former State Women’s Commission chairperson Philomena Peris and her relatives have encroached upon nearly 124 acres in Hadivoni village of Mudigere taluk, he said, adding that they have also been accused of grabbing several acres of forest land.
