BHATKAL: The Sharavathi Muslim Council organised the Sharavathi Educational Awards ceremony at Etihad Public School in Valki village of neighbouring Honnavar taluk, honouring meritorious students who excelled in SSLC, PUC, degree, engineering and other academic fields.
The ceremony, presided over by Council General Secretary Dr Abdullah Sukri, saw 13 outstanding students receive gold medals, cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their academic achievements. Three meritorious students from Sadalgi were also among the awardees.

All India Muslim Personal Law Board executive member Maulana Mohammed Ilyas Jakti Nadvi, who attended the event as the chief guest, urged the award-winning students to pursue their educational journey with greater dedication and continue striving for excellence. Bhatkal-based researcher, author and historian and former general secretary of the Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat in Dubai, Maulana Abdul Mateen Muneeri, attended as the guest of honour. Several other community leaders and dignitaries from Bhatkal and surrounding areas were also present.
The awards were presented by the guests, who congratulated the students, their parents and teachers. Among the achievers, Mohammed Burraq, son of Khwaja Shaikh, was particularly noteworthy for completing Hifz of the Quran at Etihad Public School, Valki, while securing the first position in the Class 10 examination with an impressive 96.8 per cent.
Other award recipients included Gul Bahar, daughter of Fazlur Rahman Kurwe (88.40%); Atufa Mohammed Haneef Bapuji (86.72%); Zaidan, son of Ilyas Khan Shamsi (92.16%); Muzna, daughter of Sikandar Khan Sadalgi (93.12%); Madiha Anjum, daughter of Yusuf Sahib Sadalgi (98.16%); and engineering student Aqsa Anjum, daughter of Tabrez Khan Sadalgi, who scored 95.16% in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Special prizes were also presented to students who completed Hifz of the Quran, including Hafiz Aman Potli, Hafiz Umar, son of Mohammed Rafiq of Jeddah; Hafiz Bilal, son of Khwaja Potli; Hafiz Abdullah, son of Nooruddin Geema; Hafiz Asim, son of Asim Qazi; and Hafiz Mohammed Burraq, son of Khwaja Shaikh.
The programme was compered by Maulana Furqan and concluded with a prayer.
