Ullal: Voilence and unpleasant activities which is being observed in Ullal from a past few days has gripped the people of area in fear and tension. Despite the prohibitory orders from the police, the untoward incidents have not come to an end.
A recent incident was regarding the stabbing of a young innocent boy by miscreants at Kairanagla. People demanding the immediate arrest of the culprit shut their shops protesting against the attack in Mongogoli and Manjanadi areas of the town. The buses also remained off road as barricades were put across the roads at many places in town to check the traffic flow.
In another report from the area, Rehmania mosque in Ullaal has also been smashed by the vandals. A few men entered the mosque premises at midnight and threw stones at the mosque which resulted in breaking of window panes of mosque. Huge stones were found inside the prayer area. It should be noted that another incident had taken place just before three days in the same area where the miscreants had set the prescription of Holy Quran on fire by entering a mosque after dismantling its roof.
In the meantime, the police have arrested two people in Ullal who were on bike with swords with the intention to create tension in the area. The accused has been identified as residents of Modopu village, Dhanush and Sharat, both aged about 25 years. It is being thought that these are the activists of Saffron wings.
Regarding the arrest, Assistant Police Commissioner NS Shrothi has said that police are also investigating about their involvement in previous acts of stabbing. It should be noted that since November 10, four different incidents of stabbing by bike riders have been registered in the area.
Although the Police has increased the security arrangements, but a new act of violence with each coming day is increasing the tension among masses.
