Byndoor: Byndoor police have arrested three thieves involved in stealing the batteries from motor vehicles and have also seized the batteries, on 23rd febraury, Thursday. All three accused are traced as the residents of Bhatkal.
The accused thieves have identified as Muhammad Salman (21), resident of Jamiabad, Muhammad Sameer (21), resident of Jaali road and Muhammad Mohsin (18), resident of Madina colony.
The police said, they had received the information saying, a Tavera car bearing registration number "KA 16 A 9716" is roaming around the streets of Shirur in a suspicious manner, which later moved on to the Bhatkal route. As the information was received, Byndoor Sub-Inspector Santosh made the immediate preparations to follow the car. But very soon, another call rang-up saying the car have moved towards Kundapur. This made the police to stop at Henbail cross to start raiding the similar cars moving on the way. One of the car with three people moving in it caught red-handed, saying that they used to steal the batteries from the trucks which were parked aside the national highway in the regions of Marvante, Navunda and Byndoor and were on the way towards Kundapur to sell those stolen batteries. While raiding inside the Tavera car, around seven stolen batteries were found, which bears the total value of more than 70,000 rupees. Police have arrested these three crooks and also have seized the Tavera car and the stolen batteries.
All the three accused have put behind the bars after they were produced in Kundapur court. A case has been registered in Byndoor police station limits and further investigations are on.
