Bhatkal: Three people were killed when their bike was hit by a KSRTC bus on the Sharavati Bridge, under the jurisdiction of the Honnavar police station, approximately 35 km from Bhatkal. The accident occurred early Tuesday morning around 4 a.m.

According to sources, the bus was traveling from Vijayapura to Mangaluru, while the victims were riding towards Honnavar from Manki.

The deceased were identified as Raghavendra Gowda of Mavin Kurva, Gauresh Naik of Samshi, and Ramesh Naik of Kurwa—villages in Honnavar taluk.

Sources reported that the stretch of the National Highway near the accident site is a single-lane road, forcing vehicles traveling in both directions to share the same lane. This led to a head-on collision between the bus and the bike.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Honnavar police arrived at the scene, registered a case, and initiated an investigation.
