Mangaluru: A reckless driver plowed his car onto a footpath near Ladyhill on Wednesday, resulting in the tragic death of a 23-year-old woman, Roopashri from Kana. 

The injured were Swathi (26), Hithnavi (16), Krithika (16), and Yathika (12), all of whom were walking near Mangala swimming pool towards Ladyhill from Mannagudda when the incident occurred.

The driver, Kamalesh Baldev from Mannagudda Junction, fled the scene after the collision said  Commissioner of Police, Anupam Agarwal.

A case has been registered under several sections including IPC 279, 337, 338, 304(A), Section 184 of the MV Act, and Section 134(a) (b) read with 187 of the MV Act, by the Traffic West Police.
