Muscat: Two people were rescued from drowning at the Hawiyat Najm sinkhole, according to PACDA on Thursday.

The incident took place in the sinkhole at the Hawiyat Najm Park in Quriyat. 

The two people were rescued by citizens, and an emergency team was sent to the scene shortly. The two people are in stable condition.

The Hawiyat Najm sinkhole is a popular destination for tourists, and is a 120km drive from Muscat towards Sur.
