Udupi: A 53-year-old man tragically passed away after mistakenly using rat poison instead of toothpaste in Mukka on the outskirts of Udupi. 

The deceased had been identified as Venkappa, hailed from Inna in Karkala Taluk. 

Despite receiving treatment, he did not respond positively, leading to his demise.

The incident occurred on November 1 when he inadvertently used rat poison as a substitute for toothpaste, resulting in severe illness. He was immediately transported to a hospital in Mukka, where he eventually succumbed on Monday evening. 

A case has been filed at Padubidri police station
