With four more days of holidays for celebrating Deepavali and State Unification Day, some more batches of tourists visited the district.

Most tourists visited the famous Ravindranath Tagore Beach in Karwar.

Similarly, tourists also visited religious places like Murdeshwar, Gokarna and beaches such as Om Beach, Kudla beach, Honnavar beach among others.

Tourists from across the State had come to the district along with their families, while ‘case-rich’ IT-BT employees of Bengaluru had come to the beaches with their team members.

Not just coastal areas of the district, but also the interior parts also received decent inflow of tourists.

Banavasi, Sonda, Sahasralinga in Sirsi taluk, Unchalli falls in Siddapur taluk, Dandeli’s Kali Triger Reserve sanctuary, castle rock and other tourists’ spots also saw huge influx of visitors.

In the last one month, the Tagore beach in Karwar has attracted nearly 40,000 tourists. With private companies stating adventurous sea sports, the beach has started attracting more visitors.

The boat ride, Jet-ski, sand vehicle, banana boat and other entertainers have been luring the visitors to visit the beach again and again.

“Beaches here are very beautiful,” said Suresh, a visitor from Bengaluru and added that the setting sun gives a mesmerising feeling. He asked the district administration to provide more security at the beaches, so as to attract more tourists.

Tourism Department In-charge Assistant Director Gopalkrishna Bekal said that the continuous holidays has helped the district to attract more tourists.

The district administration has decided to draw more tourists in future by providing more facilities.
