Moodbidri: An incident of suspected moral policing unfolded at the Moodbidri bus stand, where a young man belonging to a different faith was subjected to an assault. The event occurred on Monday night when the youth was conversing with his friend near the Moodbidri bus stand.

When a young woman was waiting for a bus heading towards Bengaluru. Her male friend approached her, and they engaged in conversation. However, due to the difference in their faiths, three young individuals took offense and physically assaulted the man.

Following the incident, a confrontation between the youth and a few other bystanders took place after the bus had departed. In response to a formal complaint lodged by the victim, law enforcement has registered a case under Sections 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
