Karwar: A fishing boat named Cristo Rey of Goa, was located and safely brought back to Karwar Harbor after losing contact due to engine problems in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday.
The boat, carrying 26 fishermen, had been adrift for four days before being spotted by Coast Guard personnel.
The boat's owner had alerted the Coast Guard after losing contact with the vessel. Upon receiving the distress call, Coast Guard personnel immediately launched a search operation and deployed a rescue boat.
After locating the distressed vessel, the rescue boat towed Cristo Rey back to Karwar Harbor, where all 26 fishermen were safely disembarked.
The Coast Guard's prompt action and rescue efforts were instrumental in ensuring the safety of the fishermen.
