Bhatkal: The Ranjan Indane Gas Agency of Bhatkal has organized the 15th annual Shivaratri Padayatra on February 26. The pilgrimage will start from the historic Choleshwara Temple and end at the renowned Murudeshwar Temple.

The announcement was made by Shivani Shantaram, the owner of Ranjan Indane agency, during a press conference. The Padayatra will begin at 4:05 AM with a special pooja at Choleshwara Temple. Arrangements have been made for drinking water, a separate queue for Shiva Darshan at Murudeshwar Temple, and food offerings for devotees participating in the journey.

For the return journey from Murudeshwar to Bhatkal, bus services will be provided. Women participants are required to carry their Aadhaar cards for identification.

The Padayatra, which started 14 years ago with the support of a few close associates and devotees, has grown significantly over the years. This year, over 12,000 devotees are expected to take part. The pilgrimage not only promotes spiritual reflection and mental peace but also contributes to physical well-being.

Shivani Shantaram expressed gratitude to Minister Mankal Vaidya, the Murudeshwar Temple Management Committee, the police department, and the Asarakeri Kriyashil Balaga members for their support in organizing the event. She also paid tribute to Maruti Devadiga, a long-time associate of the event, who passed away recently.

Present at the press conference were Shantaram Bhatkal, Arun Chandavar, Deepak Naik Ranginkatte, and Kumar Naik Konemane.
