Bhatkal: Abdul Wadood Maani (50) of Nawayath colony in Bhatkal, was killed after a lorry rammed the motorcycle he was riding from the rear on Shamsuddin Circle, Bhatkal NH 66, on Thursday around 1:30pm.

The victim fell off from the two-wheeler and got crushed under the front wheels of the lorry.

According to the eye witnesses the bike was turning on Circle towards Nawayath colony from Sagar Road, when a lorry rammed his bike. Abdul Wadood was immediately rushed to the Bhatkal Govt hospital with serious condition but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching to the hospital.

Hundreds of people gathered soon after the accident at the circle, and the one way traffic was blocked for a while, but Circle Police Inspector Suresh Nayak, PSI Kudgunti amongst many other police officials rushed to the spot and cleared the road.

Hundreds of people also gathered at the Govt hospital soon after hearing about the accident.

A case has been registered at Bhatkal town police station.
