Karwar: The Department of Minority Welfare has invited applications through the Seva Sindhu portal for scholarships for students from minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Sikhs) pursuing B.Ed courses (recognized by NCTE) in government, aided, and private colleges for the academic year 2024-25.

Under this scheme, eligible students will receive a special incentive of ₹25,000 per year for the course duration, up to a maximum of two years, based on the allocation of funds for the financial year. To qualify, the annual income of the applicant's parents should not exceed ₹6 lakh, and students must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous year's annual examination.

Applications must be submitted through the Seva Sindhu website by December 25, 2024.

For further details and assistance with the application process, students can visit the website https://sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in/ or contact the Taluk Minority Information Center or the District Minority Welfare Office, Uttara Kannada, Karwar. Queries can also be addressed through the helpline at 08382-220336 or 8277799990, as stated in the notification by district officials from the Minority Welfare Department.
