HANAMKONDA: An 11 year old student being chased by a pack of stray dogs was run over by a tractor on Tuesday. The accident occured in Marripally Gudem of Kamalapur mandal in Hanamkonda district in Telangana.
According to media reports boy E Dhanush who was studying in class 6 at the Govt high school in the village was participating in a rally organised on the occasion of Telangana Education Day celebrations as part of the Telangana State Formation Decennial festivities.
It is said that during the rally, Dhanush saw a roadside grocery store and went there to purchase a biscuit packet. But while returning to participate in the rally, a pack of stray dogs chased him. While frantically trying to escape from the canines, the boy accidentally fell under the wheel of a passing tractor and died on the spot.
Parents and relatives of Dhanush were devastated by the tragic news. They alleged that gross negligence of the teachers and school management caused their child’s death. After finding out about the incident, MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy visited the grieving family members and consoled them. He assured them that the State Government would support them in every way possible.
