Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Challenges Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Public Debate on State's Guarantee Schemes

In response to criticisms from the Home Minister regarding the implementation of Congress party's guarantee schemes in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has dared Amit Shah to engage in a public debate with him. Siddaramaiah, after meeting with farmer leaders ahead of the upcoming budget presentation, refuted claims that the state's finances were derailed by these schemes.

Asserting that the state treasury remains robust, Siddaramaiah attributed any financial strain to an unequal distribution of taxes from the Centre. He challenged Shah to substantiate his claims in a public forum.

Accusing the BJP of consistently opposing programs benefiting the poor, Siddaramaiah highlighted a history of opposition to social justice initiatives. He criticized the central government's approach to rice distribution, alleging discrepancies in pricing and availability.

Siddaramaiah further criticized Shah's stance on Kannadigas' interests, citing issues such as opposition to the Kannada flag and attempts to impose Hindi. He ridiculed the BJP's adoption of the slogan "Modi ki guarantee," accusing them of intellectual bankruptcy and a disregard for the state's welfare initiatives.
