Udupi: In a tragic incident, Jaya (64) from Korangrapadi was fatally struck by a petrol tanker on National Highway 66 in Udyavara village on Saturday.

Employed in a hollow block, Jaya was walking home after work when the collision occurred. 

Despite immediate efforts to transport him to the Udupi District Government Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. 

Kapu police station has registered a case.
