Bhatkal Gets New Jali Panchayat Office, Inaugurated by Minister Mankal Vaidya

Bhatkal: The Karnataka government is committed to effectively implementing guarantee schemes for the underprivileged while also focusing on developmental projects, said Uttara Kannada District In-Charge Minister Mankal Vaidya.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the new office of the Jali Pattan Panchayat, organized under the Karnataka Urban Development Department and the District Urban Development Cell of Uttara Kannada.

During his address, the minister highlighted key proposals and ongoing projects in the region:

A budget of ₹86 crore has been proposed for a new drinking water supply project in Jali, while ₹106 crore has been allocated for Honnavar-Manki.

The Bhatkal Municipality's drinking water project has received ₹37 crore in funding.

Steps are being taken to permanently resolve power cuts in Bhatkal and improve sanitation measures.

₹9 crore has been proposed for highway development near Sagar Road Park to enhance safety.

913 houses have been sanctioned for Bhatkal, with efforts underway to secure approval for additional housing units for beneficiaries.

The event was presided over by Afsha Qazia, President of Jali Panchayat. The welcome address was delivered by Jali Panchayat Chief Officer Manjappa, and a vote of thanks was given by Narayan Naik. The memorandum was read by Jali Panchayat Vice President Imran Lanka.

Other dignitaries present included Standing Committee President Eshwar Moger, Bhatkal Municipality Vice President Altaf Kharuri, members of the Jali Panchayat, engineers Bhaskar Gowda and Aravind, among others.

As part of the event, scholarships for students and vehicles for the differently-abled were also distributed.
