Madikeri: In a horrifying crime, a Kerala man brutally murdered his wife, daughter, and in-laws using a machete in Beguru village of Ponnampet taluk, Kodagu district, on Friday. The accused, identified as 38-year-old Girish from Unnikapparambu, Thirunelli, Wayanad, was arrested while hiding in Thalappuzha, Wayanad, Kerala.

The victims of the gruesome crime have been identified as Girish’s wife, Magi (30), his five-year-old daughter Kaveri, and his in-laws, Kariyya (75) and Gauri (70). Reports suggest that Girish committed the crime due to suspicions of his wife’s alleged extramarital affair.

Girish and Magi, both laborers, had been married for seven years and had recently moved to Magi’s parental home in Beguru. After the murders, Girish fled to Wayanad, where he was later apprehended by the police.

Upon receiving information, District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan and Ponnampet police visited the crime scene and launched an investigation. Authorities are further probing the motive and circumstances surrounding the brutal killings.
