Bagalkote: A tragic incident occurred near Iliyal village in Bagalkot district, where three teenage boys went for a swim in the Krishna River, resulting in one drowning while two others remain missing. Search operations are ongoing for the missing boys.

The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Somasekhar from Iliyal village. His body has been recovered from the river, while rescue teams, including police and fire department personnel, are continuing their search for the other two boys.

The incident took place as the three teenagers visited the riverbank during a temple’s palanquin festival. Reports suggest that they entered the water for a swim but were unable to stay afloat, leading to the unfortunate drowning.

Upon receiving information, officials from the Bagalkot Rural Police Station rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation. The search operation is still underway to locate the missing boys.
