Bhatkal: The much-anticipated Indian Navayath Forum (INF) Trade Expo-2025, held over five days in Bhatkal from January 11 to January 15, concluded successfully on Wednesday night with a grand closing ceremony. The expo, celebrated for its unique attractions, inspired enthusiasm for trade and drew an impressive crowd of approximately 50,000 visitors.
The chief guest at the closing ceremony, Non-Resident Entrepreneur and President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Educational Institutions, Yunus Kazia, highlighted the growing interest of women in business and entrepreneurship. He remarked, “Women in Bhatkal are often more astute in trade than men. Many have successfully established businesses in countries like the United States and beyond. The Navayath community of Bhatkal has immense potential to leave a mark in the business sector both nationally and internationally.” He further emphasized the global recognition of Bhatkal Halwa and Bhatkal Biryani for their unique aroma and flavor, urging the community to capitalize on their popularity to boost trade.
Praising the INF’s efforts, Kazia noted, “This organization is doing exemplary work in guiding traders. By designing innovative plans to meet market demands, INF can play a pivotal role in fostering local industries. Former Gulf-based professionals are now returning to Bhatkal to venture into business, and local women are managing businesses from home but lack proper guidance. INF is committed to providing comprehensive support, from business mentorship to establishing markets for their products.”
The president of the Indian Navayath Forum, S.M. Arshad Mohtisham, presided over the ceremony. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response to the trade expo, which saw over 50,000 visitors in five days. He also revealed plans to organize similar expos in cities like Mangalore, Udupi, and Bangalore in the near future.
During the expo, experts and entrepreneurs provided guidance on business registration, starting businesses, industry-specific strategies, packaging techniques, tips on e-commerce platforms, inventory management, billing technologies, and more. Over 225 local and national-level exhibitors showcased their products and services to traders and consumers during the five-day event.
INF General Secretary Nauman Patel, Expo Convenor Muaz Jukaku, INF executives Abdul Mueed Kadli and Syed Ghufran Lanka, along with businessmen Rumaiz Shabandari and Fayyaz Mohtisham, were present on the dais.
