Kumta: A bike rider was hit by a speedy car at Khandagar cross near Mirjan NH66 at the outskirts of Kumta, killing a 43-year old bike rider. The incident reported in the morning around around 10:30am of 6th february, Monday.

The deceased has been determined as Ramchandra Devappa Achari, a resident of Chinkod in Honnavar. The deceased victim breathed last at the Kumta govt hospital.

The inter-collision between car and the bike took place when the bike was on the way towards Ankola from Kumta, while speedy car was on the way towards Kumta from Ankola. As soon as the incident took place, the rider received grievous injuries to his body. Observed this by the locals, immediately took the victim to the Kumta govt hospital through 108 ambulance service, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumta police station.
