Kumta: Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya inaugurated the second day events of the Kumta Utsav at Mahatma Gandhi ground on Thursday.

Vaidya said the Utsav is giving plenty of opportunities to the artistes to exhibit their talent. There is a need to hold programmes, which will help educate people on social and economic issues.

Utsav organising committee president Ravikumar Shetty was present. After the inaugural function, ‘Baad’ children of Kumta town performed Yakshagana, qawwali by a Hubballi team was the main attraction.

Hundreds of people from Kumta and surrounding areas witnessed the events.
